Be Delusional. Then Be Right.

Be Delusional. Then Be Right.
Lifting the World Cup Trophy at the 2026 Veterans World Championships

Before anyone else believes in your ability, you have to be irrationally committed to it.

You want proof before you commit.

A sign that it's worth the effort. Some evidence that this version of yourself you're chasing is actually possible before you put in the work to become him. Most people wait for that proof forever, because it never arrives before the work does. It arrives after.

What it actually takes

You have to believe in your potential before the results exist. Trust the process before the outcome is visible. Perform with the confidence of someone who already knows where they're going, long before anyone else has a reason to agree with you.

I wrote about this years ago in Managing the Mist — the gap between where you are and where you're going only closes if you're willing to look a little unreasonable standing in it. Every person who's ever built something worth having spent real time looking delusional before they looked undeniable.

Why I know it works

I'm not writing this as theory. I've stood in that gap myself — years of training, coaching, and believing in a result with no guarantee it was coming. This year, I got to lift a trophy that says it was worth it. But that photo isn't really about the trophy. It's about every year before it, when there was no proof at all — just the decision to keep training like the outcome was already decided.

The difference between delusional and undeniable

Talent was never the difference. Neither was certainty. The difference was showing up again, and again, until belief turned into something real.

Be delusional. Then be right.
